Over 140 Local Government Pension Scheme employers gain insight from pensions forum

LGSS has hosted its annual forum for employers in the Cambridgeshire and Northamptonshire Pension Funds, offering them the opportunity to network and hear from industry experts.

This year’s theme was on data quality, following the announcement of a new code of practice by the Pensions Regulator, which sets out data quality requirements for all public sector pension schemes. Employers heard about the code directly from the Pensions Regulator before discussing ways to work together to improve data quality within the fund.

LGSS plans to enhance the way it collects data from employers over the next two years using i-Connect, a new technological software solution specialising in data collection, and representatives from the provider also addressed the forum to talk about some of the benefits of using their products to provide data.

Workshops were also held on how to reconcile the data employers hold against the pensions systems, and how to improve the quality of new data they send to us when completing key forms.
